The applicant seeks approval of a conditional use permit to operate a veterinary clinic. The applicant proposes to utilize 2,392 sq foot of the existing building located at the stated address. The veterinary clinic will operate (6) days per week, between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00pm, with approximately 6 to 8 staff members on site. Services such as examination, diagnostic, surgeries, pharmacy, and sales of pet medical supplies will be offered at this facility. The proposal does not include an outdoor activities area nor will it include a kennel component for the boarding of animals. Animals that have received treatment at the clinic and require boarding as a part of that treatment may be boarded as an accessory use. Maximum number of client /patients is 50 per day. In addition, the applicant is requesting a reduced setback from 200 feet to 7 feet from a residential-zoned property as required by Section 13-801 of the Chesapeake Zoning Ordinance.
