Private Provider Information
Florida Statutes 553.791 (16)(b) states a local building official may establish, for private providers and
duly authorized representatives working with that jurisdiction, a system of registration to verify
compliance with the licensure requirements of paragraph (1)(n) and the insurance requirements of subsection
(17). Please review the steps below and reach out to our office if you have any questions.
⚠️ If electing to use a Private Provider for your project:
- Your Private Provider will need to create their own account and add their licenses to their account to
be validated prior to being added to an application.
- Private Providers must contact the Building department at 386-626-7007 to have their
account permissions elevated to inspector.
- Please review your permit invoice before paying it to ensure appropriate discounts have been applied.
Step 1: Review Private Provider Registration Guidelines

- Every authorized team member should have their own unique login. Multiple contacts can be added to one

Important Notes:
- Applicant may request Private Provider Plan Review and Private Provider Inspections; City
inspectors will not conduct inspections when a Plan Review is conducted by a Private Provider.
- Early Start Permits are not permitted under Private Provider.
- No work shall begin on the project until a building permit is issued.
- No inspection reports shall pre-date the building permit issuance date.
