Santa Barbara County Fire Department
Updated Plans Submittal Process in Accela For Projects that have a current FPC
We have updated our process on how Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) accepts submitted documents for review. We are now using the Accela Portal for submitting plans and other supporting documents for projects under review.
If there is a current open Fire Protection Certificate (FPC) for your project, only contacts listed through the Building Permit application can submit plans. Any subcontractors shall provide plans and documents for submittals to one of the contacts listed with the building permit for their submittal to SBCFD.
If you have an active FPC you can submit the following types of documents for our review.
Access Plans
Master Fire Protection Plans
Addressing Application
Fire Sprinkler Plans
Stored Water
Hydrant Plans
Wildland Fire Protection Plans
To submit your documents, go to the Fire tab in the Accela portal and click Search Applications. If your FPC is listed under Permits, you can click on the permit number. If it is not listed, input the FPC number in the Permit Number box under General Search. When your FPC is up, click the Record Info arrow, when the tab opens, click on attachments. This will allow you to add your documents.
All other plans for FPCs (like the ones listed below) shall be submitted through the Building Department. They will forward them to us for our review.
Fire Alarm Plans
Hood System Plans
Fire Sprinkler Monitoring Plans
Grading Plans
If you have any issues, please email us at pe.inquiries@countyofsb.org.
