Project Description:

This project consists of the design and construction of new facilities, infrastructure, and site improvements for new support facilities south of their current location, some within the existing southern buffer zone at CHRLF. Under this Project, the following future elements will be sited and designed: 1. Truck wash building used to prevent the spread of dirt and refuse in the surrounding communities and street network 2. Storage area where parts and supplies are stocked and distributed to the Shop and other facilities within the Solid Waste system 3. Emergency generator 4. Moderate risk waste (MRW) storage area used for temporary storage of hazardous materials improperly disposed at the facility and spill cleanup residues 5. Some tractor and refuse trailer parking used for parking empty trailers waiting for service, or full trailers awaiting tipping on the active landfill face 6. Tractor/trailer maintenance building, welding fabrication facility and stores 7. Tractor/trailer and employee parking 8. Administration building (including offices, cubicles, multi-purpose rooms, lunch/break room, showers, restrooms, lockers, storage, training room, and IT infrastructure) 9. Field engineering equipment calibration rooms, charging and storage stations The Project has to pursue a Special Use Permit to allow construction of facilities in the southern buffer due to the conditions in the existing Special Permit governing the landfill property which restricts the use of buffer areas to access only.
