Notice to Contractors - Secure Construction Sites (Hurricane 2024 Milton)

In preparation, we suggest stopping all construction activity 24 - 48 hours prior to the storm hitting landfall. 

We strongly encourage you to activate your tropical storm / hurricane construction site plan during this window of time or even earlier. 

Please notify all subcontractors to help secure the construction sites. Here are some items to address:

• Clean up all construction debris
• Tie or band together all loose plywood and lumber 
• Secure other loose building supplies, portable bathrooms, and equipment
• Remove permit boards with documentation and all job site signage
• Remove or secure scaffolds 
• Make sure street drain inlets are not blocked

Due to this emergency, normal operations including permitting, and inspections may be affected.
